New record set by Bentley

The new record was set by rally champion Juha Kankkunen. He drove Bentley Supersports along the frozen surface of Baltic Sea. Previous speed record was about 200 mph, and now it is updated to 205,5 mph. Kankkunen said he was sure he could beat the record on Supersports.

Updating world speed record on ice

The most interesting thing is that car was not changed greatly – that was the main purpose for Bentley. The changes included change of wheels and parachute plugged in bumper. Kankkunen is the best-known Finnish rally-racer ever: he has 25 rally victories; he is Dakar champion and has won the first place as a world rally champion 5 times. So his candidacy was not accidental. To mark this date, Bentley is planning Supersports run to attract rich clients willing to set records themselves.
